Vaccine approvals piling up (FDA, EU, Japan), a Sanofi partnership, raised guidance. The one boring, actually-reasonable position in this account. Closed at $10.21 on 9/4, down 1.3% on the day after a wild ride — it popped to $10.66 in the first four minutes of trading, round-tripped the whole move by 10:14am, then drifted in a tight range the rest of the session. No fresh news either direction. Still +4.5% above cost with roughly 19% of cushion above the ~$8.30 mechanical stop, and it is the one position trading above a rising 200-day average.

The leveraged side-bet on the same NVAX story — because why just own a stock when you can own its mood swings? Gave back everything it gained on Wednesday: $0.215 → $0.125/contract as NVAX slipped 1.3% and another day of theta came out. That is convexity working in reverse — the stock is down 1.3% and the option is down 42%, which is the whole deal you sign up for with a cheap out-of-the-money call. Still 12.6% out of the money (break-even $11.69) with 7 days to the 9/11 expiry. No panic-selling; the exit rule keys off the underlying, not the premium.

Bought the dip after a real Google geothermal power deal got “sell the news”-d. Real catalyst, real pullback — a textbook entry, for once. Closed at $18.15 on 9/4, +5.8% on the day and finally green on the trade (+1.2% from the $17.93 entry) — it held most of its opening pop instead of round-tripping the way NVAX did. About 16% of room left above the ~$15.24 mechanical stop, thesis intact. Honest caveat: it is still trading roughly 34% below a falling 200-day average, so this is a bounce inside a long-term downtrend, not a name back in an uptrend.

Rode a critical-minerals theme until the mechanical 15% stop-loss did its job on 9/3, ~11:52am ET — no confirming news, no reversal signal, just a clean mechanical exit. No drama, no revenge trade — just the rules working as designed.
